Highlights from our Past Excursions
Fulford Place Mansion (2017)
OWCC members visited two Ontario Historic Trust Sites in Brockville. First, Fulford Place Mansion, where the group saw marvelous furnishings and learned the story of Senator Fulford. Second, the Homewood Museum, where they discovered the story of Dr. Solomon Jones.
Prince Edward County Wineries (2016)
The group enjoyed a lovely day exploring 4 of the renowned Prince Edward County wineries including lunch and a bit of sampling.
Boat Tour of the Thousand Islands (2017)
The day began with a boat tour of the Thousand Islands and a delicious roast beef lunch. This was followed by some free-time for shopping, and the attendance of a matinee performance of “The Birds and the Bees”, a romantic comedy at the Thousand Island Playhouse.
Balderson Cheese Factory (2016)
This tour travelled to Balderson where people visited the local shops and the cheese factory. The group then visited Merrickville where participants shopped at the many lovely boutiques in the village.
Montreal (2018)
OWCC members enjoyed a tour of Château Ramezay, a historical monument in Montreal, reliving more than 500 years of history through its exhibits. This was followed by a tour of Saint Joseph’s Oratory, one of the most important pilgrimage centers in the world.
