Sébastien Lemay has been a constable with the Ottawa Police Service for 11 years, having previously served in Wakefield, Quebec for 2 years. He is in his fourth year as the Community Police Officer for Lowertown, the Byward Market and Sandy Hill.
As a Community Police Officer, Sébastien is the liaison between the community and the Ottawa Police Service. He regularly conducts follow ups on issues patrol officers might have not been able to resolve; meets residents and business owners to share some crime prevention strategies; attends meetings with resident associations, businesses, and other stakeholders; and finally, meets different groups to offer presentations on various safety and security topics.
