The Ottawa Women's Canadian Club

Meet your Board
d'Administration

Eight years ago, my husband and I moved to Ottawa to be closer to our children and grandkids. Wanting to meet other women and becoming involved in this outstanding community were priorities. The OWCC was introduced to me by an enthusiastic club member and Past President.
Board participation has solidified many friendships and exposed me to club programs. A select group of speakers has enhanced my view of my Canada while enjoying the company of other women in a social setting.

Hopefully, serving on the Board has helped to preserve and extend the rich 113-year legacy of OWCC.

Carol MacKay

Murielle Goddard

Responsable de la salle à manger

Six years after joining the Ottawa Women Canadian Club, I am delighted to serve the club as the Scholarship Chair. It has been a profoundly enriching decision for me. This esteemed organization offers a unique blend of cultural enrichment and personal development opportunities. I was drawn to the club’s mission of fostering a sense of unity and support among women in Ottawa, and its dedication to promoting Canadian heritage and values. Through various events, lectures, and monthly gatherings, the club not only provides a platform for learning and growth but also encourages meaningful connections with like-minded individuals. My involvement in the Ottawa Women Canadian Club allows me to contribute to and benefit from a vibrant community dedicated to empowering women and celebrating our nation’s rich cultural tapestry.

Rose Caddy Nwaha

Student Chair

Since retiring, I have been fortunate to find fascinating and diverse endeavours to channel my career experience and my love of Canadian history and public affairs in new and productive directions. The OWCC struck me as an excellent match to both my background and my interests, and I am delighted to join this dynamic board.

Lisa Haley

Communications and Tour Chair

After attending a couple of luncheons, enjoying the food, speakers and companionship, I decided that the Club was just what I needed.  Although I miss the Château Laurier, I am loving the new venue – so accessible, with great food and views. Being on the Board adds to my enjoyment of the Club.

Marilyn Collins

Madeline Bissell

Responsable des billets

I joined the Ottawa Women’s Canadian Club to work with other like-minded women to advance equality between women and men. Being appointed as the Archivist of one of Canada’s oldest women’s
organizations is an honour.

Nanci-Jean Waugh

Archivist and Secretary

I recently joined the OWCC because I wanted to meet other like-minded women from Ottawa who are passionate about learning and connecting.   I strongly believe that getting involved in one’s community is vital to our mental health.

After attending several luncheons, I quickly realized that I wanted to get more involved and join the Board of Directors.  I’m excited about the growth I will experience on a personal level and how I can also help this amazing organization grow

Ana Ideias

I am newly retired and would like to give back with my time, ideas and networking. I love that the OWCC has such rich history empowering women’s of all walks of life.

Michèle Lanoue
